Psoriasis - Overview
Psoriasis is a non-contagious inflammatory common skin condition in which skin cells multiply up to 10 times faster than the normal condition resulting into red, dry patches of thickened skin. It generally occurs on the knees, elbows or scalp and it can also affect the torso, palms, and soles of the feet. It is the persistent long-lasting disease, which can also be associated with psoriatic arthritis, which may lead to pain and swelling in the joints.
Psoriasis Causes and Treatment
Psoriasis can be caused by several factors like the genetic, environmental and immune system. Consumption of opposite foods (like fish and milk together), bruises or burns, trauma on the skin like cuts, medication for high blood pressure, and malarial or skin irritants, excessive smoking and alcohol, obesity, mental stress and infections like throat or skin can also be responsible for causing it.
