Irritable Bowel Syndrome - Overview
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a digestive problem in which functioning of digestive system changes which results into gastric problem includes abdominal pain and trouble with bowel movements like diarrhea or constipation. IBS patients have extra sensitive nerves and muscles in the bowel. It affects the intestine that stores stool. It is a problem of movement rather than any tissue damage of digestive system.
Causes of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
Stress and anxiety, bloating, infectious diarrhea, autoimmune disorders like arthritis, high cholesterol level, piles, hindrance in absorption of nutrients, excessive intake of alcohol, caffeine or carbonated beverages and intolerance to lactose and/or gluten are often responsible for causing Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
