Allergic Rhinitis - Overview
Allergic Rhinitis commonly known as Hay Fever is caused by an allergic reaction to specific allergens like pollen. It occurs when the immune system overreacts to particles in the air that we breathe and we are allergic to them. The immune system attacks the particles in the body, causing symptoms like sneezing and a runny nose.
Allergic Rhinitis Causes and Treatment
Some of the causes of allergic rhinitis include indigestion, inhalation of smoke, pollens, and dust, sleeping in the daytime, staying awake in the night, exposure to cold and chilly weather, increased sexual activity, suppression of natural urges. Allergies are also caused due to hypersensitivity of the nervous system. Dust mites, animal dander, cockroaches, mold, cereal grain, wood dust, and chemicals can also cause allergic rhinitis.
